Pastor's Ponderings

What great witness! The Spirit is leading! We can all learn and grow from God's word and the words of the 13 youth who affirmed their faith on Sunday, December 19th. They did an awesome job! A great way to begin a new year, this month and next month, I urge you to read the verses and paragraphs that they wrote and read on December 19th. I would urge you to put them up in your place of dwelling. God used and will continue to use these 13 youth. God bless and may the Spirit continue to lead!

Samuel James Watts I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

This Bible verse is a verse I can relate to a lot in my life. A lot to times I might not be confident or might be nervous about how well I am doing. I just need to remember that if I am nervous God is with me. He is helping me, watching me, guiding me and all the things that I say and do. I'll need help finding strength to do good in school and sports so that I do as good as possible. I'll need God's strength in guidance to help me achieve all of those school and sports goals, And if I ever come across problems and getting my goals accomplished, I just need to remember that I can do al things because God is with me and help me. It's important for me to pray to God daily because it's important to keep God in the center of my world, because he centers me. This helps me to remember what's important in life. You can always trust God to be there when you need Him.

anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. Proverbs 12:25

I chose the bible verse Proverbs 12:25. Anxiety has gotten the best of me at times but just a simple "hi or hello" has changed my prospective on the day. I always try to say good morning to people at school or even at home. You can make an enormous impact on somebody's day, by saying hello or good morning, or even waving and smiling. There is going to be days where you feel like it will never get better but, just wait because that one person will wave at you or smile and it will make things ten times better. I think somedays people need to spread that smile and wave; it could change somebody's prospective just like it changes yours.

Alexander James Watts
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity 1 Timothy 4:12

This verse can apply to my life because in our world we have a lot of people that think that no one cares about them, but what they don't know is that God is always looking down on them and I can be a person who cares for them through Him. Also, because not all teens will try to set a good example for their peers and some adults set a bad one. My speech, love and behavior can all help with this because if I show people the right to do and get rewarded or not get rewarded maybe my peers and other people in the world will want to do what is right. I can also see what is right and then do it. I hope that other people will, too. They will do the same thing I do. And if I am doing what God wants me to do, I will be a person that other people can be like.
